NHS and councils must ‘develop different relationship’
LaingBuisson Chairman Stephen Dorrell has told the Communities and Local Government Committee that the continuing crisis in social care will only be addressed once a new style of relationship is developed between health services and local councils.
Speaking in his role as chair of NHS Confederation, the former Health Secretary said: “I feel very strongly that the local authorities and the NHS in each locality need to develop a different relationship with each other in order to address prevention, intervention, early discharge.”
