LaingBuisson founder, social care analyst and creator of the Care Cost Benchmarks tool, William Laing appeared on the BBC Radio Four Today programme this morning, along with councillor Stephen Cowan, leader of Hammersmith & Fulham council.

Discussing the funding pressures being faced by local authorities looking to place people in care homes, Mr Laing repeated to presenter Justin Webb his suggestion that an ‘Ofcare’-type organisation should be established to determine the level of funding assigned to residential care at a national government level.

Councillor Cowan outlined the service cuts carried out by Hammersmith & Fulham in order to maintain social care funding.
