TRUSTED, VERIFIED DATA
Cloud-based tools providing interrogation, visualisation and export of datasets
The LaingBuisson data team maintains an SQL data warehouse with a wide range of datasets from multiple markets, curating the data by collecting, cleansing it and linking it. Sources include public sources, Freedom of Information requests and APIs as well as original research from surveys and our own time series of data built up over many years.
Our tools enable clients to analyse the data, present it visually in dashboards and charts and export it to combine it with their own data. We can offer APIs to integrate with client’s own systems and proprietary data.
Understanding the real costs behind the provision of care. First developed almost 20 years ago with the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, Care Cost Benchmarks has become the industry standard tool for calculating care costs. Based on extensive survey work the conceptual framework is essentially the same as that adopted by the Competition and Markets Authority in its September 2017 financial analysis working paper as part of its care homes market study. There are also additional costs now to consider in the light of Coronavirus – namely the costs of PPE – which can be tailored to each provider.

A powerful site selection tool that brings together the best data across healthcare, demographics and developments from CACI, Barbour ABI and LaingBuisson. Hosted on CACI’s sophisticated InSite technology platform, this collaboration brings the industry the most data-rich, comprehensive and accurate view of the UK’s elderly care market. CareMapper® is available to purchase as an individual report or as an annual licence fee and identify the best potential sites for care home development covering supply, demand, competition (including fees, occupancy and en-suites), new capacity, staff drive times and availability and more.
DATA CONSULTING AND SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT
LaingBuisson also offers bespoke data consulting – we can assemble a dataset for a client by acquiring the data from public sources (we can scrape websites, use optical character recognition to scan documents and other methods), curate it by cleansing the data so it is accurate, and link it so it can be searched. We can then add incremental data from our own proprietary sources or from client’s own data. In addition, our in-house software development team can build dashboard and data visualisation tools that enable clients to add to and maintain datasets themselves for analysis or to create bespoke reports.
